Born in New Orleans and raised in Sun Valley Idaho, like many Taosenos, I arrived here to ‘work as a ski instructor for the winter’ to escape more than a decade in cities (Paris, Tokyo, Chicago, San Francisco Dallas). That was December 1991!

Also, like many people here, I tried to leave. I married a Frenchman and went to France in 1992, then broke up with the Frenchman and went to France in 1996, never to return…but I did, with my skis and $40.00 in 1998!

Why work at a mortgage company? After going back to school for a year in 2004-2005, I realized I was just not ready to do school again full time (having studied film/video in at the Univeristy of Illinois, Chicago and San Francisco Art Institute) …and work part-time at more restaurants etc. in Taos! My goal was to find a great boss in a fabulous office with reasonable salary, that would help my husband and I build a house on our land in Arroyo Hondo.

As luck and fate would have it, I hooked up with Elisabeth Guillemin and we hit it off immediately, both being French speaking Francophiles. After more than 2 years as the loan processor with Taos Lending Team, my husband and I are almost finished with the grueling process of building a house with an owner/builder construction loan.

Working with Elisabeth has been fantastic! Working on all kinds of loans, construction, refinance and home purchases with a variety of clients in different life stages, I feel I can now really help anyone with their mortgage questions as well as get the loans processed and closed efficiently.

Who would have thought that a ski instructor/waitress/student/motorcycle service writer/caterer/freelance writer/restaurant manager/Buddhist documentary video editor would end up working in the mortgage business, but it’s been great!
